Welcome to Fannin Elementary
Home of the Tigers

Dear Parents or Guardians,

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year.  We are proud of our enthusiastic learners and our experienced, dedicated staff at Fannin Elementary.  We look forward to working with you, in partnership to ensure your child’s social-emotional and academic growth.  Success for our students is dependent on support from the school as well as from home.  With that shared responsibility in mind, we ask for your support to assist your child in the following ways:

1.      Ensure your child has a good night’s rest, attends school daily and arrives on time,

2.      Completes homework assignments given by teacher (communicate with teacher if you have questions or concerns regarding homework,)

3.      Reads daily to develop vocabulary, fluency and a love for reading,

4.      Shares their learning with you by discussing school experiences and social activities,

5.      Informs you when they are having difficulty or need additional support in any subject, and

6.      Understand that you believe in their ability, expect them to be successful and prepared for the next stage in their education.

Research on effective schools clearly shows that parent participation in their child’s education has a positive effect on student success. We invite you to become involved in our school, whether as a library or classroom volunteer, a member of the PTA, or through your participation in our school events.

We hope to keep you informed of all that is taking place at Fannin Elementary.  We encourage you to sign up for the Class Dojo with your child’s teacher.  We also provide updates through a weekly School Messenger telephone call.  Our school website hosts a calendar of our events.  If ever you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us by phone at (915) 236-5600, email at fannin@episd.org or in person in our school office.

The outstanding Fannin staff and I feel privileged to be a part of the Tiger school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to meeting you.
